Theatre | Multiplex Projects

Acoustic Treatment for Theater/Multiplex: While there aren't many acoustical considerations in multiplex architecture, the isolation of sound and vibration between individual theaters is a crucial—and difficult—acoustical feature of contemporary movie theaters. Large, open areas with a variety of surfaces make up movie theaters. Movies these days are loud and dramatic. Particularly low frequencies penetrate into every nearby room and are easily transmitted through concrete structures (and beyond). The theater of a modern movie theater is completely detached from the building and is essentially a huge concrete room inside of a room that is solely supported by springs.
